THE AFTERMATH

They were already hauling away the evidence the evening and all through the night on 9/11. Hundreds of trucks were readily available to fill up on Building 7 and Towers 1 & 2 bits and pieces. Fumes of toxic shit came up out of the bowels of where the trade center stood. These fumes did not stop flowing out of the site for several months after. Some say the notion of building waterfalls at the holes was to quell the incessant fumes. There was molten hot metal at the bottom of the basements. Firemen reported seeing molten metal dripping along the rail channel lines.

The cleanup work at Ground Zero took ten months and involved employees from dozens of City, State and federal agencies and the tireless efforts of responders, laborers, contractors, volunteers, and community organizations. It took resillience to clear the site, and all the metal pieces like exterior column sections were brought to the Fresh Kills Landfill. "The city trucked the debris from the disaster site, designated Ground Zero, to docks at the southern tip of Manhattan. From there the city used Department of Sanitation barges to transport the debris to the recently closed Fresh Kills Landfill in the borough of Staten Island." From there almost all of the Tower steel was sold off as scrap to China. There are photos and some pieces remain in the memorial museum, but not the obvious pieces that exhibit nanothermite cutting at an angle, or blasted pieces.
